How to delete apps from phone

There are many reasons why you might want to delete the apps on your phone. You may feel that the home screen is full of unnecessary junk. You may also consider some of the apps that came with the phone are taking up too much space.

Fewer apps would mean you can easily detect any malware that may be planted by hackers, not to mention some of the apps tend to mercilessly drain your mobile data. Last but not least, apps are known to shorten the battery life.

With a particular focus to Android-based phones, we shall show you how to delete or uninstall apps from your phone.

Removing the apps from the “Settings”

Head over to the settings app and tap on the “apps” section. All the apps on your phone will appear on a list; locate the app you want to delete and tap on it.

All the information on the app will be displayed, together with an “Uninstall” button. When you tap on this button, you will be asked to confirm that you really want to delete this app.

Tap “Ok” and the app will be removed. If you do not see the uninstall button, then this means that the app is part of the OS and cannot be deleted.

Uninstalling from the Home Screen

This method only works on the Android version 8.0 Oreo.  Head over to the Home Screen and tap and hold on the app you wish to remove. A menu with several options will instantly display.

One of the options will be “Uninstall”; tap on it. You will be asked to confirm if you want to proceed with removing the app; hit “Ok” and the app will be uninstalled.

A confirmation message will soon appear, informing you that the process was successful. Easy, isn’t it?

Deleting apps from the Google Playstore

You can apply this method to all modern Android versions. Launch the Google play store app on your phone and tap on the hamburger button, which is at the top left corner. A menu with several items will then open.

From this menu, tap on “My apps & games”, followed by tapping on the “Installed” tab. A list of all the apps installed on your device will be shown. Locate the app that you intend to remove and tap on the “Open” button near its name.

The app’s page on the play store will open and the “Uninstall” button will be clearly visible. Tap on it and you will be asked to confirm your actions. Tap on “Ok” and the app will be instantly removed from your device.

Conclusion

All the methods above are quite effective, so why don’t you find the best one for you and see how satisfied you become?
