Updated Calendar App

The new Calendar app combines Messages and Mail by suggesting events that it “finds” in these apps. You can always disable this feature in the settings section but it is a pretty handy perk if you tend to forget events.

The app also uses Apple Maps and, based on the transit options available to you and traffic conditions, suggests the best time for you to attend marked events. You can also control when you want to be alerted of these events based on travel time.

Siri Updated

Siri, Apple’s trademark virtual assistant, is a lot more helpful in iOS10. It comes with more interactive features than before. And since it works with non-Apple apps too you can control more apps for iPad and iPhone with your voice.

Basically, you can make Siri do everything that you normally had to do yourself before. Want to send someone cash with Square Cash? Say “Hey Siri, pay Jack 20 dollars with Square Cash” and it will do so. Want to send a message on LinkedIn? Do the same. Try it and see for yourself.

If you didn’t know about these features before, you will be glad that you do now. By making user experience more predictive, the iOS10 has made interactions with your Apple device a lot more personal. Now that you know how the OS works, make the most of it.
